Our mission is to explore and enrich human wellbeing in a dynamic global environment.
We don’t just study resilience, we go out into the world to find it. From desert camel camps to high mountain villages, from coastal communities to rainforests, The Human Resilience Project undertakes expeditions to some of the most vulnerable places on Earth. There, we work alongside Indigenous peoples in often remote areas to understand how culture, spirituality, and tradition sustain mental health in the face of trauma and climate disruption.
Our research combines daring exploration with rigorous investigations that incorporate non-Western research methods. By weaving together Indigenous knowledge, research, and storytelling, we uncover strategies that are both culturally rooted and globally relevant.
This work is urgently practical. Without resilience and positive mental health, people don’t act. By supporting wellbeing, we unlock the courage and resilience needed to confront the climate crisis head-on.
Through reciprocity and co-creation, we ensure that our discoveries are not just about communities, but with them. Each partnership produces solutions tailored to local needs while also building a shared global knowledge base. We then carry these insights across borders, sparking cross-cultural exchanges that strengthen resilience everywhere.
The Human Resilience Project is charting new territory in exploration, where the frontiers of mental health, climate change, and Indigenous wisdom meet. Join us in this work. With your support, we can amplify hidden voices, transform the way resilience is understood, and help create a stronger, braver, more resilient world.
